Nomad's Land

I worked with Superposition on an online documentary exploring past and present immigration in Achterhoeks. I helped translate datasets and archival content into a narrative, leading to the development of a storyboard and documentary research to shape the story. These images are taken from the documentary and visual research and from the storyboard for the project.

As a visual principle, we chose to work with a view of the Earth and a split screen connecting two different points on the planet, showing the link between two places created by the act of emigration. Then, to tell the story of the emigrants, we decided to display a combination of archives and historical objects.

I searched for a visual way to present archival items such as letters, administrative documents, photographs, etc., which tell the story of these families.
